Margin trading and trading speed on webull : Webull
Day Trading Margin Call Issue (WeBull)
Yesterday before close, I liquidated all positions and had a balance of $64,xxx. Last night, during after hours, I purchased shares of a stock to hold over night. I was not prompted that I was using Day Trade Buying Power, and had sufficient Overnight Buying Power to satisfy the purchase. This morning, I received a day trade margin call in the amount of the purchase. My questions are: 1) I currently have unsettled funds from trades, when those settle will that satisfy the margin call (assuming I make no other trades)? 2) Why did I not get a prompt that I was using Day Trade Buying Power? 3)Why did it use day trade buying power instead of overnight buying power?
Hello, I'm thinking to transfer all my money from Robinhood to Webull. But before that I wanted to get some details about webull.
First I wanna ask about the margin account on webull. On their website, it says margin rate is 6.99% for account less than $25000. I'm planning to put $5500 on webull and will ONLY trade with that much money. I'm not planning to borrow more money from webull. But I will be doing 3 day trades per week. Also, wanna buy and hold stock overnight then may be sell next day or so. I was wondering if these kind of frequent trades will be charged margin interest or not. Will there be Good Faith Violation and stuff if i do that? I don't really understand this margin and GFV concept and just wanna know whether it will apply to my kind of trading.
On the other hand, I've been trading on Robinhood the same way and I don't see any margin interest charge on any of my statements. So I would really appreciate if someoene could help me out with this.
I wanna know the trading speed on webull as compared to robinhood. I read in some reviews that Webull orders don't fill fast as compared to robinhood. Also, how's the extended hours trading on webull? do orders get filled fast or how long it takes? So if anyone could please talk more about it, I would appreciate it.
If I want to short sell a stock on webull, do I just click trade > sell/limit/qty > preview order ? I have a margin account. Just started using webull after using RH for quite some time so still trying to figure this out. Thanks
I just switched my Webull account from cash to margin and went to purchase a stock, and it's telling me that I have X amount of buying power for overnight trading, and Y amount for day trades. When I went to do an overnight buy (not day trading during post market hours), the app tells me that the purchase needs to be an overnight, or I will be margin called in the morning. Why would it matter if I am doing a day trade or overnight trade if I have 3 trades still available? -the name says Jesus, just call me Jeff
I've been finding a lot more wrong with Robinhood lately. The outages were bad enough, but between the desktop experience and the iPad experience (lazy AF), I'm about done trusting my money with them. I'm stuck between TD Ameritrade and Fidelity, where should I move the money I'm eventually going to lose? Bonus points if their mobile app isn't a shitrock.
Hey guys, just wondering what brokers you guys are currently using on penny stocks. I have been looking for one to trade more than 3 times a week if possible but with a low account balance under $1k. Currently i am using robinhood and thinkorswim. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! [Edit] Thanks for replying guys. And sorry for another question but any with good leverage?
Is the day trade buying power “per trade” Or “Per day” I’m about to hit 25k margin account and trying to figure out just how “unlimited” unlimited day trades really is .. Also, I’m currently in RH - is RH or Webull better for day trading and why in your opinion? Currently I do 3 relatively high volume day trades a week 6-10k shares ... I occasionally swing trade but I’ve been burned tremendously holding overnight too many times so I prefer not to. Which platform in your opinion is better for this. The reason I haven’t ditched RH yet is because I don’t want to lose a week or so transferring money and now they have cash management which is pretty dope to get up to 15k in margin for spending on 5% interest ... plus I like the interface ... but the lack of PRE and AFTER market hours has cost me big recently.
POLL: What platform do you use for mobile trading?
I'm curious what people use here for managing their trades on their mobile phones only. I have what I believe to be are the 5 most popular mobile app brokerages. I was limited to 6 poll options otherwise I'd list more. View Poll
I need to express my concern and vent for a second. Over the last week and a half I have legitimately lost $1000s of dollars because of Robin Hood. Not even because of bad trades but because of glitches. When stop losses are set, the app just completely bypasses the request and accumulates losses with no regard to selling. For example, I invested in modal like many others earlier this week and set a stop loss for 4%. It dipped 6% and then 10% and by then a sec circuit breaker. And then when trading resumed it tanked. Luckily I was able to secure $250 profit through a manual trade but at one point I was up $3000. I understand I shouldn't complain because It could have been much worse, but come on. Today, Robin Hood decided to take $750 from the sale of a stock and lock it up in margin withheld (mind you I freed up those funds to invest in a stock which I kid you not jumped 5 minutes after I tried to invest) I don't even have a margin account lol. I will be pulling all of my money from this joke of a ”broker” and try out webull.
Was gonna make the switch from rh to webull, but wtf is gfv?
I literally just made a deposit, but I think I'm about to cancel. So webull doesn't let you sell anything until funds settle? Robinhood doesnt have that at all does it? The first thing I was gonna do w the new webull account was sell a put, but as soon as I do and get that credit is that automatically a gfv? Maybe I should stick with rh
So I transferred my account from Robinhood and love WeBull but I have a Cash Account right now. Would switching to a margin be similar to Robinhood instant? I don’t plan on using margin just whatever cash is available to me
